""The Mine" is a riveting thriller that is sure to entertain and please." - Midwest Book Review on Amazon.com
"If you enjoy John Grisham novels, you will love this book. Daniel Cobb does a fantastic job of grabbing the reader and pulling them into the story... "The Mine" is a fictitious account of one mining company’s unending greed and the young DEQ employee that wants to stop them. There are unexpected twists and turns that keep the pages turning. It was easy to get caught in the drama and feel the fear, anguish and anger that was so brilliantly brought to life in this novel…" -Melissa Koltes, Rebecca's Reads (author’s emphasis)
"This fast-paced, fact-based, Grisham-esque thriller enthralled me. It cost me sleep and ultimately made me want to write to my Congressperson. Ryan Evans is a biologist working for Oregon DEQ when he discovers extreme environmental dangers, corruption, and corporate greed that will take more than one life. Really well written and researched, everyone should read The Mine!" -Bobby, Annie Bloom's Books, Portland, Oregon (author’s emphasis)
"Great book. This is Cobb's first novel and is a great read!! Loved it!!" - Donna on Goodreads.com
"If you like Robert Ludlum and John Grisham, you will love this book! There is action from beginning to end." - Alexander on Amazon.com
"I was really blown away by this book and read it in two large gulps. The story of what goes awry... combines excellent research on gold mining along with a fast paced thrilling adventure story. It is hard to believe that this is a first time novel from Mr. Cobb, as it has surety of character and plot along with excellent pacing. I would highly recommend this to all and look forward to Mr. Cobb's next book." – Rochelle on Goodreads.com
"This is a first book by an author whom in my opinion
will go far! This was a great story which grabbed my attention on the first page
and held it to the last. It was made all the more interesting because it was
based on factual information regarding leach mining which made the story all too
plausible. The characters were believable, the plot realistic, and all of it was
skillfully woven together with great descriptions and dialogue. I am already
looking forward to the next work by this up-and-coming author!" –

"Emotionally engaging and riveting ride...an environmentally enlightening and
suspenseful tale of how only a handful of people can ruin the lives of many and
change the face of our planet." – Miki on Goodreads.com
"This is a great book and I literally could NOT put it down. I finished
it one morning at 3:18AM but had to get up for work at 6:30AM. It didn't matter. The premise is frightening and I had to keep reminding myself it was fiction
(based on a real situation with significant research on the part of the author).
The locale was Portland OR (and I live here), but it would not have mattered
because it could have happened anywhere. The main character is an
honorable, everyday, underpaid scientist who is thorough and diligent. He
believes that if he does a good job he can change (or save) the world -- yet
money is the evil that controls most things and corrupts even governments that
are there to protect us. Environmental mystery on top of a murder and MORE. I
liked the characters and worried about them. As I was reading I was surprised
how fast it went and tried to put down the book to save it for tomorrow; instead
I allowed myself just one more chapter, just one more paragraph...but I could
not put it down. Kudos for this first author. I hope to see lots more from Mr.
Cobb." - Word Smythe on

"The Mine moves at a great pace, much like a Joseph Finder novel. It not only
details corporate greed, but the way companies have no regard for the Earth and
the impact these companies and their decision have on it. I highly recommend you
give "The Mine" a chance especially if you are looking for a thriller that
doesn't take place within a courtroom and is outside the financial district.
Either way, its a great read and I look forward to reading more by this author."
– Ryan from Goodreads.com
"The Mine was very relevant in a time of corporate corruption. Given the recent
environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, linking the greed of exploitation
with potential ecological catastrophe made the novel immediate and instructive.
However, The Mine is a ripping good yarn that will keep readers interested in
turning the pages. It was a good old-fashioned tale of good-guys vs. bad-guys;
David vs. Goliath." – Randy

"The characters were real people and not perfect. Character development was
excellent and I could see the main characters changing as the novel went on.
Included were many struggles - man against man, man against nature and man
against himself. The novel also was packed with action and
unpredictability. Loved it." – Deanna on Goodreads.com
